MACKENNA HANSON IS AN ARTIST WORKING IN MINNESOTA.

MacKenna Hanson is a Midwest-based artist, educator, and writer. Born in 2003 in Jacksonville, Florida, she's lived in Georgia, North Carolina, Chicago, and Stockholm, Sweden. Hanson uses her art to explore and critique taste, power, and culture. She's a triplet sister, a pop culture enthusiast, and an enjoyer of fun.

A Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Hanson was assigned to SAIC's 2023 Dean's List for Outstanding Sophomores and was admitted into the School's 2024-2025 Advanced Painting Program. She had works exhibited in SAIC's LeRoy Neiman Center as part of the School's Art Bash of 2022 and also had works exhibited in the School's Sharp Building as part of the 2023 Dean's List for Outstanding Sophomores exhibition.

Since her 2025 Spring Undergraduate Exhibition, she has had a solo show, State of Emergency, at Formato Fine Arts in Wytheville, VA. She has shown work in Minnesota and has multiple upcoming shows and appearances in the Saint Cloud area in 2026. She has served on the Central Minnesota Arts Board's Student Scholarship Panel and continues to work with the community.

Her work is held in several private collections. Contact her via her email, [email protected], to purchase artwork or organize a studio visit.
